(Portland) Chisholm Financials announced the purchase of local credit union Sasquatch Credit Union. This brings the total number of local acquisitions by Chisholm Financials up to six in the last year alone. A press statement released today says that the merger will give Portlanders trust and confidence in their local banking and protect their monetary investment.
Since the U.S. Congress disbanded the FDIC following the major default that disrupted banking and financial institutions in late 2103, companies like Chisholm have flourished by scooping up smaller, local institutions and guaranteeing customer's deposits. A law passed by the U.S. Senate in 2104 that forbid customers from withdrawing over 50% of their balance and/or closing their accounts for up to two full years further strengthened the acquisition arm of companies like Chisholm.
"Chisholm Financial backs up its customer's deposits with polymer assets and regional gold reserves. We provide financial safety and assurance for Oregonians as we march towards Enclosure." stated Chisholm Financial CEO Thomas Chisholm. "Our goal has always been to ensure monetary security for our customers. They can trust the Chisholm code, passed down since our founding in the late aughts: honesty, integrity, and trust."
Critics of the mergers say that customer choice and financial freedom has been jeopardized by what they see as a conspiracy between a weak U.S. government and corporate interests. Others applaud the convenience and ease of the newly unveiled Chisholm-backed White Rose City Card which allows account holders to transfer credits seamlessly between Chisholm accounts and a large number of merchants around downtown Portland.
Chisholm Financials says that several more acquisitions will be announced in the coming months.
